A few more indications we're not fully in our power:
- We use manipulation to get what we want.
- We look to others to validate our own self-worth.
- We are needy and/or co-dependent.
- Our focus is on the gain, not on the giving.
- We play the role of helpless victim.
- We allow others to dominate us.
- We allow fear to stop us.
- What others think of us matters more than being who we are.
- We surrender our truth to avoid conflict, or to get what we want.
- We play the blame game.
- We're not excited and passionate about our life.
- We do things out of a sense of obligation, rather than true desire.
I will admit these are tough things to acknowledge about ourselves. But as long as we are standing in the shadows of our own brilliant light, we will continue to feel 'less-than,' and from that stance, there is no hope of accomplishing what we came here to do. Remember, it is not someone else's job to save us, to fill our voids or to carry us through this lifetime. We must do this for ourselves.
Here is one simple way to shift into a life of powerful purpose:
Each morning when you awake, rather than only focusing on what you need from the world, feel gratitude for all the wonderful things already present in your life and ask yourself what you can do to add value to the lives of those around you. By being in a state of gratitude and giving, we naturally open the floodgates to receiving more than we ever dreamed possible.
Together, lets raise some hell!
